After its rhythm section bolted following the release of 1994's Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Come's remaining members Thalia Zedek and Chris Brokaw never considered throwing in the towel. Instead, they recorded another album (New Life Experience) in rapid succession and toured with a boatload of bassists and drummers to support it.

This never-give-up spirit comes as no surprise from Zedek (ex-Uzi and Live Skull) and Brokaw (drummer for moody, influential Sub Pop band Codeine), considering Come's music is full of relentless energy that is spent on an expansive emotional battlefield.

Gently Down The Stream features the debut of new bassist Winston Bramen (Fuzzy) and previously unheard-of drummer Daniel Coughlin, and it picks up right where the band left off on New Life Experience. Recommended tracks on the LP include the fearless "Saints Around My Neck" and the lower-key album closer "March." Come is one of the most energetic bands around, and Gently Down The Stream comes (no pun intended) highly recommended indeed.
