Matmos, who rely on a diverse array of field recordings to create quirky and snappy electronic pastiches, often sound more alive, organic, and human than their more vocally-based contemporaries.

In a Matmos "song," sounds are pulled and stretched and cracked with a craft that yields physical as well as aural evidence. This time around, the duo mines the operating room for their sound palette.

Supposedly they've been working with some obscure singer from Iceland. Lucky her.
