While You Weren't Looking
Yep Roc (2002)
The title of Caitlin Cary's debut full-length CD, While You Weren't Looking, is certainly appropriate. Although much of the media attention surrounding Whiskeytown, the semi-legendary band from North Carolina that was expected to break alt.country into the mainstream, has focused almost ridiculously on erratic singer/songwriter Ryan Adams, it appears that his former fiddler/harmony vocalist Caitlin Cary is more than ready to emerge from his dark shadow.
